stopmo sketchbook: ball bounce
by sven at 10:39 pm

A little stopmo clip I made over the weekend.
I like the idea of creating clips as if they were drawings in a 4-dimensional sketchbook. This is a first step in that direction.

Very cool. Love the sky and the immediacy of your 4D sketch concept. How about a little 5th dimension? Maybe not ("up up and away in my beautiful balloon" for this sketch?)

Ha ha!!! Good one Shellsies!! I got that reference... not sure Sven's old-school enough to pick up on it though?
And Sven... cool clip!! Great atmosphere.

I love it! It's minimal and pregnant with all sorts of possibilites for visual consumption!

Good test, now here's my critique:
When the ball bounces, it should flatten slightly for a couple frames on impact. If it doesn't, it looks kinda weird. I would also take out that second frame from the second bounce once the ball is on the left side of the screen; you already have one frame of acceleration, so there's no need for a two frame hold.
Nice animation and set, though, on the whole.
